Facebook is a social platform with the largest user base and at the same time it is one of the sites that has numerous security and privacy issues. There was a day in which people were even able to access any Facebook account without any password, but Facebook seems to be making some changes to those issues by adopting HTTPS.
HTTPS is a secured way of transmitting data, in which the login credentials and other data entered by the user are typically encrypted. Facebook was not doing this before or by default still does not encrypt it, which means people with some simple hacking techniques and applications can hack into your account with ease.
You can enable HTTPS connection for accessing and browsing Facebook by going to Account Setting-- Security--Account Security.
While this does take care of encryption of data and limits the open hacks, people should still understand that anything that goes in Facebook is to be considered open. The information is not limited to just your friends and may extend beyond unexpected limits. If you feel some information is not to be shared with all then encrypt them by not entering it in Facebook

Oh sure, Facebook cares soooo much about privacy :-)
ReplyDeleteFace it, FACEBOOK is like the proverbial "Forbidden Apple". Once you take a bite out of it you are open to the world. All you got to be careful about is the many eyes that watch you.
