Photography: Eye-Fi goes Hi-Fi

Eye-Fi card is a SD card that uses Wi-Fi to upload images directly to the cloud. Since the data is constantly uploaded to the cloud, in theory if we have constant connectivity then this card is likely to give us infinite storage. I have been thinking of buying this card for a while, not for instantaneous uploads from the locations, but mainly to cut the boring task of searching for the cable to do a simple task of downloading the images that I have taken in my dSLR.

Now this card has gone one step further to enable "Direct Mode" access that will allow it to communicate with smartphones and tablets and directly upload photos to them for immediate data transfer and sharing. I am not sure how it is going to pair with my iPhone without Wi-Fi, but for the phones that can do hotspot service this is definitely a good add-on.

More importantly for the current owners of Eye-Fi X2 card owners, this feature is going to be made available through a FREE upgrade..
