Gadget: Official Honeycomb Tablet Announced

Google has been keeping the news of Android Honeycomb, well under covers for a while now. There was only a small reveal by Andy Rubin during the All things Digital event, that gave away to the rumors of a version of Android built from the scratch exclusively for tablets. This announcement made at the time, when almost every other manufacturer was already jumping on the Tablet train with the current releases of Android (Froyo / Gingerbread).
There has been no official word from Google yet, but Motorola has officially announced the launch of Motorola Xoom which is the first official tablet to run Honeycomb. Just like with Droid series, Motorola seems to be carrying this flagship model of Tablet or from Google's terminology this will be the base version that any other competitive Android tablet will have to meet.

ASUS announced its fair share of tablets yesterday, all of which are supposed to be running Honeycomb, but none had the preview or details available around Honeycomb. The details from Motorola gives it the exclusive rights to boast for at least sometime. The tablet runs 1 GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 10.1 inch 1280x800 resolution display, 5 MP camera, 720p video recording, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooh 2.1 + EDR and 32 GB of onboard storage. The device will be releasing with Verizon like the Droid series in Q1, 2011 and upgradeable 4G connectivity in Q2, 2011.

The initial looks and teaser video of the product that demonstrates the new Android version is definitely good. Hope the pricing and unlocked version or WiFi only version will also be available for this.
