Towards the second half of last year, when all the 3DTV craze subisided, Sharp has announced and launched 3D capable Smartphones in the Asian market. It was not going to take long for others to jump on this segment, especially with the consumer interest seen for Nintendo 3DS. LG has confirmed that they are going to enable 3D on Smartphones.
After lot of rumors and leaks about LG probably taking up on 3D smartphones and making 3D also as part of the G-Slate, it has been confirmed that LG will be showing off the Optimus 3D. As per the Engadget post on this topic, the smartphone is likely to have dual-lens 3D camera, a "glasses-free" LCD display (Lenticular display) and HDMI / DLNA file sharing.
Glasses-free definitely makes this more likely for adoption, but since it uses Lenticular technology it needs to be seen if it will have any impact on the resolution. Also there should be a way to turn off the 3D when not required, so it will be some good fun during the Mobile World Congress announcement.
