News: ATT prepares to fight Verizon, with Motorola Atrix

ATT is finally losing its iPhone exclusivity this month after having a dream run for all these years. iPhone has definitely added number of new subscribers to the network and more importantly had paved way for recurring revenue for the network. The device also being the first smartphone of its kind, forced ATT to improve its network to satisfy the data and call concerns in major areas.

The analyst estimates are that ATT may lost as much as 14 million subscribers over the next 1 year, because of people interested in switching over to Verizon now. The number definitely seems quite high and some move may clear the network congestion and may prove beneficial for ATT customers though.

ATT on its part, is taking the fight to Verizon and releasing the most powerful phone announced till date around the same time as that of iPhone launch in Verizon. The device is set to launch on March 6th for $199 on contract.

One of the major feature of this device was the laptop dock that will make this device transform into a netbook with the included accessory. The dock and phone together will cost $500 with contract and will also need the additional tethering plan to be opted for. The dock by itself is likely to sell for $500 anyways.

Just the phone itself will definitely make some people re-consider switching from ATT.
