Notion Ink's Adam Tablet is one of the Android tablets that I am eagerly watching out for. The tablet has been in the news for more than a year now and is finally shipping this week for US and European customers. In the official Notion Ink blog that is constantly updated by Rohan Shravan, they have posted some pics of the tablet being packaged and loaded up for delivery.
Typically the unboxing videos or photos are done by the consumers or the tech blogs that cover these gadgets. In the case of Notion Ink, since the pre-order covers only a small customer base, they have shared the unboxing photographs of the device and some interesting information about it in the process. I am just attaching some photographs in this article and you can hit the source link for more details. To ensure that the device is not tampered with during shipping, it has also tamper proof stickers at 3 places in the packaging.
The device is shipped with an outer case that is hard cover to prevent any damage during the shipping process and is sealed further inside. The black case as seen in this picture is the actual outer case for the device and it is not the traditional cuboid. The box is angled to give a nice appearance and also has a practical application.
The inserts that are part of the packaging make this box to act also as a stand on which the device can be mounted and used as a display panel for weather or clock information. This is definitely a nice way to re-use the packaging and make it practical, instead of just throwing them away.
From the other pictures that are posted, it also looks like as soon as the table it connected, it is likely to received its first update and with Honeycomb in pipeline, we expect more updates to be releases as and when they are available.
I guess once this reaches the consumers, the response, photos and videos should provide more information about the device than this single blog that we follow for all this information
